Putera MIC ro recruit 5,000 Indian youths

MALACCA: Putera MIC is looking to add 50 new divisions and recruit about 5,000 Indian youths aged 18 to 30 by the middle of next year.

Chief P. Kamalanathan said: "We target to open 50 new Putera MIC divisions in the next 10 months. The response has been overwhelming, especially from Selangor and Johor."Most of our members are graduates, and this will help the movement become a strong and reputable force for the MIC." The Alor Gajah Putera MIC division was the 10th division to be opened since Putera MIC was formed in 2006, he said.

"Most of the members comprise Universiti Teknikal Malaysia and Universiti Multimedia graduates," he added.
State Putera MIC chief Rama Sockalingam said they expected to open more divisions in Malacca, particularly in Tangga Batu and Bukit Katil."We are also looking at opening new divisions in Jasin, Masjid Tanah and Kota Melaka. But we will only do this after we find suitable leaders to head the divisions."

Meanwhile, on the Manya Blogger Awards 2008 initiated by Putera MIC to recognise Indian bloggers, he said the "People's Choice Blogger Award" was open to all races.He said the award was aimed at creating awareness among the Indian community of blogging.
